Chapter 8
If you are trying to upload your web site to Tripot as described in Chapter 8, you will find that their procedures have changed. Please use the revised instructions below:
Fill out the form. After completion an e-mail will be sent to the
address you gave in the sign up process. Click the link found in this e-mail to activate your account.
A second e-mail will be sent to your chosen address, with details of your final username and password.
Go to http://www.tripod.lycos.co.uk
In the left-column, click 'WebFTP'.
A sign-in window will appear. Sign in to your new account using your username and password.
Click 'WebFTP' in the left column once more.
The WebFTP screen will appear.
To upload files to your web space, click 'Upload'.
Choose 'Browse' to find a file you need to upload, and click OK.
Scroll down and click 'Upload'.
The new file should now appear in the directory list.
Go to the URL you were given and check out your web site.
The student resources are PC self-extracting .exe files. Click on a link to download a file then double-click the file in Windows Explorer / File Manager to expand.
Macintosh users please use Stuffit Expander 6.5 or above to expand the .exe files.
