Chapter 8
If you are trying to upload your web site to Tripod as described in Chapter 8, you will find that their procedures have changed. Please use the revised instructions below:
Fill out the form. After completion an e-mail will be sent to the
address you gave in the sign up process. Click the link found in this e-mail to activate your account.
A second e-mail will be sent to your chosen address, with details of your final username and password.
Sign in with your username and password on the right
Click on the Build a site tab at the top
Click on Tripod Homepage on the left
Click on My Account on the left
Click on WebFTP at the bottom of the page
On the WebFTP page click Open WebFTP
To upload files to your web space, click 'Upload'.
Choose 'Browse' to find a file you need to upload, and click OK.
Scroll down and click 'Upload'.
The new file should now appear in the directory list.
Go to the URL you were given and check out your web site.
The student resources are PC self-extracting .exe files. Click on a link to download a file then double-click the file in Windows Explorer / File Manager to expand.
Macintosh users please use Stuffit Expander 6.5 or above to expand the .exe files.
